Fresh features now available on O-LAS! ----------------------------------------------------------------- Report Function A brand new report function has been added to O-LAS, EssentialSkillz Online Learning & Assessment System. The report function gives the Main Administrator the key performance indicators for any group of users or all users in their organisation. This facility was designed for monthly reporting or random reporting. Reports can be printed out directly from O-LAS or downloaded to the workstation. Employees who have not completed mandatory courses can be emailed from within the report screens. Concerns Emails EssentialSkillz have also added a new Concerns Emails function to O-LAS. The new Concerns Emails function allows the Main Administrator to configure an automatic email that will periodically be sent to all Line Managers or Assessors who have unresolved risk assessment concerns for their employees. The emails can be configured so that they will be sent at pre-defined intervals and will only go to Line Managers or Assessors who have unresolved concerns. This new function is designed to take the work out of chasing Line Managers or Assessors to resolve concerns actionable by them, thereby freeing up the Health & Safety Managers time to resolve the critical concerns raised. To find more about unresolved risk assessment concerns emails, please complete this online form: http://www.essentialskillz.com/evaluate.html ----------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Around the globe odd-bits ----------------------------------------------------------------- JCB can do 300mph A JCB has been created that can do 300mph. The digger firm produced the Dieselmax in a bid to smash the speed record for a diesel-powered vehicle reports The Sun. JCB say they are confident it will soar past the 235.74mph diesel world record at Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. It will be driven by Wing Commander Andy Green, who set the 763.035mph land speed record in 1997 in the rocket-like Thrust SSC. Andy said: "This really shows what British engineering can achieve. I'm really looking forward to driving another British entry into the '300mph club' - and a diesel-engined JCB at that!" The Dieselmax does have some disadvantages. It needs a push-start by a truck, it does four miles to the gallon and the tank holds just two gallons. Story compliments of www.ananova.com Message left on the British Army answerphone Thank you for calling the British Army. I'm sorry, but all our units are out at the moment, or are otherwise engaged. Please leave a message with your country, name of organisation, the region, the specific crisis and a number at which we can call you. As soon as we have sorted out Kosovo, Bosnia, Macedonia, Serbia, Iraq, Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone, The Congo, marching up and down bits of tarmac in London and compulsory health and safety at work training, we will return your call. Please speak after the tone or, if you require more options, listen to the following numbers: A. If your crisis is small and close to the sea, press 1 for the Royal Marines. B. If your concern is distant, with a tropical climate, good hotels and can be solved by one or two low-risk bombing runs, please press 2 for the Royal Air Force. (Please note that this service is not available after 1630 or weekends.) C. If your enquiry concerns a situation which can be resolved by a warship, some bunting, flags, a damn good cocktail party and a first class marching band, please write, well in advance, to the First Sea Lord, The Royal Navy, Whitehall, London SW1.
