Food Hygiene Essentials (Rep. of Ireland)
All
new employees about to begin work in the food industry
are required to receive training in the essentials of
food hygiene, before they commence work. Food Hygiene
Essentials is a flexible and cost-effective means of
ensuring employees receive their basic training before
turning up for work. This 30-minute course addresses
the training requirements of the Food Safety Regulations
with regard to the training of workers before commencing
employment.

Food Hygiene Essentials covers
Food Poisoning - Understand what causes food
poisoning, where bacteria can grow and recognise the
symptoms of food poisoning.
Personal Hygiene - Covers the importance of a
personal hygiene regime, washing and keeping your hands
clean and how to keep work clothes clean.
Food Handling - Highlights the importance of
storing, serving and handling food correctly.
Cleaning - Covers the basic principles of cleaning
and the uses of different cleaning agents.
Further questions - Sets out what is involved
in more advanced aspects of food hygiene which the user
can expect to cover in the next six months.
Final Quiz - There is also a final quiz at the
end which tests their retention and understanding of
the course material.
