The manager and employers lesson describes managers’ and employers’ responsibilities to protect employees’ health, safety and wellbeing, as well as anyone else that could be affected by your work activities. It outlines the need to assess the risks associated with Covid-19 and what control measures should be implemented to minimise the risk of transmission, such as:
- Making arrangements for social distancing
- Implementing regular and robust cleaning routines
- Enforcing good personal hygiene
- Providing PPE where necessary given the risks and conditions
Employees are also responsible for protecting themselves and others. The lesson for employees emphasises that employees must comply with their organisation’s control measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, and what changes to they can expect in the workplace.
It also describes how employees can better communicate with their managers about workplace processes and how they can better take care of their wellbeing during this time.
This course provides general information for how everyone in the workplace can mitigate the risks, but organisations will need to translate this information into specific actions, which will depend on the type of organisation, its size, and how it is structured, managed and regulated.
