Instructional Designer

The Instructional Designer will join our team in Galway. In this role, you will partner with our Content and Development teams to deliver and design effective and innovative learning solutions and experiences for our clients.

We are looking for an Instructional Designer to research and write compliance related eLearning content. You'll need to be passionate about promoting health and wellbeing in the workplace and helping our customers meet their compliance requirements. You will need to be resourceful enough to research these topics and create engaging and informative digital content, often without the assistance of a SME. You will love writing and communicating through a variety of digital channels.

In addition to your passion, we require candidates to have lots of experience researching, writing great eLearning content. While a formal ID qualification would be very welcome we consider the ability to communicate, relevant experience, and a good general education (Level 8), to be essential.

In this role you will:

  • Use instructional design capability combined with mixed media (audio, visual, motion graphics) technical skills to design and produce eLearning modules.
  • Research topics, design curriculum and write engaging new courses.
  • Source and work with external subject market experts where required.
  • Collaborate with a team of instructional designers and content developers to produce courses.
  • Improve user experience of courseware by applying instructional design methodology, including adult learning theory and interactivities.
  • Expand company market position by remaining abreast of competitive offerings.
  • Innovate on company products and learning strategies, enhancing company product profile.
  • Review and update existing courses.


  • Excellent communication skills.
  • 3+ years experience in a professional writing role.
  • Experience in a training, teaching or editorial role, preferably related to eLearning (designing, editing, writing, developing, etc.) is desirable.
  • Experience writing, training, teaching or working with Compliance, Health and Safety, Legal, and/or Business Skills content is desirable.
  • Good technical skills essential while experience with html5 authoring would be an added.
