Critical to our success has been our WorkWize Compliance Platform that enables customers to create courses, edit our off-the-shelf libraries, create self-risk assessments, automatically deploy this content to their users, and effectively manage the resultant workflows. The Governance, Risk and Compliance sector is growing rapidly and we are well-positioned to benefit from this growth.

We are looking to hire professionally experienced PHP Developers to join our DevOps Team based in Galway, Ireland. These are full time, permanent positions, with the benefit of working remotely. 

The role:

We are interested in meeting PHP Developers with significant competence and experience in object-oriented design, who are familiar with modern web technologies and are looking to develop their knowledge in a supportive working environment where learning is central to everyone’s personal development.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design, code, test and improve sustainable software
  • Deliver customer value under general direction
  • Manage your work to meet time, scope and quality objectives
  • Engage in the improvement of tooling and processes to increase the team’s ability to deliver value
  • Communicate effectively about DevOps with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Facilitate collaboration between all stakeholders to meet objectives
  • Oversee and mentor team members through jobs where you have more experience

The person:

  • Fluent English speaker
  • Strong Object-Oriented Design with PHP and SQL
  • At least 3 years of experience developing a multitenant SaaS application
  • Developing and Testing HTTP APIs (e.g. REST, JSON or GraphQL)
  • Unit Testing including developing mock data models
  • Ability to perform code reviews and effectively communicate feedback
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following (Vue, React, Angular, Ember, Mithril, or Backbone)

Advantageous skills and knowledge:

  • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline is an advantage
  • Deploying large scale SaaS software on multi-server infrastructure (AWS Management Console Services)
  • Familiarity with end-user test automation (e.g. Selenium, BrowserStack)
  • Exposure to SCRUM, XP or Test Driven development environment
  • Experience with MVC frameworks (e.g. CakePHP, Laravel, CodeIgniter, Yii, Zend)
  • Experience of the following: GIT, Jira, SASS, MongoDB, Node.js, Unix (Linux/Mac), Jenkins, Docker, MySQL
  • Single Sign-On, OAuth, SAML, LDAP, SCIM, e-learning industry technology SCORM, TinCan/xAPI, AICC HACP, LRN, Web application security, ethical hacking, XSS, Pen testing
  • Although not strictly required it is advantageous if you could commute to our Galway offices
