DSE Online Training

  • Highlight the key issues associated with working with display screen equipment, eg eye strain, muscle aches and pains.
  • Discuss the importance of good posture and varying your posture.
  • Provide practical guidance on the safe set-up and use of computer workstations.

The EssentialSkillz  DSE Online Training highlights the health risks associated with working with a computer workstation and the preventative action that individuals can take can help reduce the risks. The DSE training covers the components of a computer workstation and the recommended set-up of your chair, desk, desk equipment and screen. How to achieve a good posture while you work and the importance of avoiding sitting or standing for too long are addressed. Regular eye breaks are important to look after your eyes and the course also covers what to do about glare caused by your computer screen and natural or artificial lighting. How to carry and use portable equipment, eg laptops when travelling or working away are covered as well as using a portable device at a fixed computer workstation. Simple stretching exercises are included to help reduce tension and stress. The DSE Risk Assessment is taken after completing the course. The risk assessment assists with identifying issues with a computer workstation, provides advice on how to resolve these issues or to raise the issues further so that appropriate action can be taken.

Like all EssentialSkillz courses, our DSE Online Training course can be customised to meet your needs, enabling your workforce to understand the specific policies and procedures you have developed for your organisation.
