This is a new course covering the problems and control of hand arm vibration.
Vibration at work is the cause of significant ill-health, with painful and disabling disorders of the blood vessels, nerves and joints. As well as Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) the course also describes two other conditions covered by the UK Injuries Disablement Benefits scheme: vibration-related Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) and Dupuytren’s contracture.
This course describes the symptoms and causes of hand arm vibration conditions and provides advice on how to reduce exposure. Case studies are used to show how failing to manage vibration can lead to short-term and long-term health conditions and to motivate learners to take action to protect their health.
If employees are asked to keep logs of how long they use each tool for during a shift this course will help to explain how doing this could be of benefit to them.
The final lesson of the course provides information on what staff might expect from health surveillance. Continuing with the case studies introduced in lesson 2, this lesson provides reassurance about the purpose and benefits of participating actively in health surveillance.
All our courses provide technically accurate training which keeps your organisation in line with best practice. We include the latest techniques in learning which ensure learners are engaged throughout. Our courses are also:
Add your own scripts, images, videos, presentations and interactions - with no coding experience required. Use our suite of templates to make our courses your own, delivering highly relevant training to your organisation at no extra cost.
You can deploy this course using our compliance focused Learning Management System. Alternatively you can deliver this course, with all its key features, directly from your third-party LMS.
Our Hand Arm Vibration course can integrate with JAWS ® a widely available text-to-speech integration to help visually impaired users engage with the same, unabridged and high-quality compliance training as their colleagues.
On successful completion, learners receive a personalised certificate which includes the learner’s name, score and date of completion. Certificates can be viewed, downloaded and printed off at any time to serve as a record of compliance.
Written by subject matter experts and developed by experienced instructional designers, our Hand Arm Vibration course offers a structured, practical and meaningful learning experience that provides learners with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the workplace.
Create your own question and answer bank to test your users on the key information that they need to know to be fully compliant. Set core questions to appear in the test section that users are required to pass so that crucial learning points are reinforced.
Generate 10 random questions from a bank of 20 to test your user’s retention and understanding of key content.
As training administrator, you can configure the passing score that users need to complete the course. Set your own grade boundaries to ensure your training complies with the standards set out by your organisation. The default pass mark is 70%.
The course is targeted at people who use vibration tools, or who supervise employees using vibration tools, in their work. Additional training would be required for supervisors or managers intending to carry out a detail assessment of vibration exposure in the workplace.
