Description

Modern slavery is a term used to describe different forms of slavery that exist today. Modern slaves are found across the economy, in nail bars, on fishing boats, the construction industry, mining or working as domestic help. In response to the persistence of slavery in the modern economy the UK passed the Modern Slavery Act. The EssentialSkillz Modern Day Slavery training explains the important features of this act.

The Modern Day Slavery training explains what slavery is and outlines the different categories of slavery that exist today (eg, human trafficking, bonded labour). There is a strong focus on how to recognise if someone is working a slave and what to do if you suspect someone is a slave. Modern slavery is often hidden in complex global supply chains. The course explains the provisions within the Modern Slavery Act that aim to tackle this problem.

The online training uses a variety of case studies and interactivities to add to the learning experience. Like all EssentialSkillz courses, this Modern Day Slavery training can be customised to meet your needs, enabling your workforce to understand the specific policies and procedures you have developed for your organisation. A designated course administrator can edit the text and images within the course, and link to organisation-specific documentation that may be in place, all at no extra cost.
