The EssentialSkillz Sleep course builds on the content in our Healthy Living course and is designed to help you understand how sleep contributes to your health and wellbeing. The course outlines some easy-to-implement tips to help you get a better night’s sleep.
These range from changing your sleeping environment and implementing a consistent routine, to being physically active every day. Stress is also a well-known sleep disruptor. In itself, stress can lead to physical and mental health issues. But if stress also deprives you of sleep, it could intensify these, and cause further harm.
This course helps you recognise when you might be stressed and suggests some techniques for managing stress, so that you fall asleep faster and achieve better quality sleep.
The information in this course is based on the most up-to-date advice from the World Health Organization, the National Sleep Foundation and the Health and Safety Executive.
